CCTC college students will provide the car they fixed to the customer in need
CHESTERFIELD — Students at the Chesterfield Career and Technical Center who recently repaired a 2005 Pontiac G6 will give the auto to a Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services consumer in need of dependable transportation. The ceremonial give-away was scheduled to take place on Monday.
The maintenance had been executed via the Recycled Rides, a National Auto Body Council network provider program in which the collision-restore enterprise community collaborates with different car industry partners, technical colleges, and car insurers to restore and donate cars to families and service corporations in need, in line with an information release.
While the scholars furnished the body of workers, State Farm Insurance Co. Donated the vehicle; Firestone Complete Auto Care on Ironbridge Road in Chesterfield donated the tires and automobile protection inspection; NAPA Auto Parts on Southlake Boulevard in Chesterfield donated parts and materials; 1-800-Charity Cars provided the understanding to coordinate licensing and securing an identity for the vehicle, and FinishMaster Automotive and Industrial Paint on West Broad Street in Richmond supplied the paint and materials.
A Hanover educator is named a great teacher through the use ofa lottery

Angie Hoggan, a second-grade teacher at Henry Clay Elementary School in Hanover County, has been selected as the Greater Richmond Region Virginia Lottery Super Teacher Award winner. Hoggan is one of the best eight educators from across the state to be considered for this prestigious award. More than 1,000 nominations were submitted statewide. Va. Court’s 1st black justice will communicate at W&M this autumn.
WILLIAMSBURG —
The first black justice on Virginia’s Supreme Court will welcome new college students to the College of William & Mary this fall.
The university stated in a press release that John Charles Thomas will speak at the faculty’s Aug. 30 convocation in Williamsburg. The occasion marks the start of the educational year. Thomas turned 32 years vintage when he was appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court. He becomes the youngest character to sit down on the bench, which he served on till 1989. Thomas is now a senior partner in the Hunton & Williams law firm. He is likewise a longtime member of the school’s board. The convocation also coincides with the beginning of a year-long set of activities to commemorate the faculty’s first black residential student 50 years ago.

Consent education invoice signed by McAuliffe
RICHMOND —
Gov. Terry McAuliffe on Friday held a bill-signing ceremony for a consent-to-schooling invoice sponsored by Del. Eileen Filler-Corn, D-Springfield. This law stipulates that any excessive school circle of relatives life training curriculum presented with a local college division’s aid may also comprise age-suitable elements of effective and evidence-based applications on the regulation and that means of consent.
